Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) Kits

Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)

PVA foam is a sterile, single-use, pre-moistened, microporous dressing intended for the treatment of open wounds and contact with delicate tissues in the treatment of wounds with negative pressure (NPWT). Coldex® Extra is made of white polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) foam.

Coldex® Extra is available in different sizes:

  • 7,5 x 10 x 0,9 cm
  • 10 x 15 x 0,9 cm

The available dressing kits consist of:

  • Sterile, single-use, moist, microporous polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) foam filler. These features make it ideal for interfacing with delicate fabrics. The moist, microporous weave discourages tissue growth within it, making it atraumatic upon removal. PVA is also known for its high absorptive power, which keeps the structure moist and dry at the interface.
  • Sterile drainage tube consisting of a screwed end connection for connection to the suction system, clamp for flow interruption, pad for placement on the wound field with adhesive shaped film for even distribution of negative pressure over the entire wound, luer-lock connection for manual instillation of wound bed flushing liquids;
  • Sterile transparent PU film (size 30×30 cm) for edge adhesion and covering of foam dressing. The film has numerical markings on the different layers to be removed to guide in the correct and orderly application of the dressing.
